Chair #308

TENNIS BALL CHAIR
—Designed by Hugh Hayden

Tennis anyone? How to repurpose all those fuzzy lime green spheres after Wimbleton? Tennis balls have a high turnover during matches, and so a huge number of them get discarded in spite of the fact that they're practically brand new. When we were kids we played with them until they were almost bald, right? Hugh Hayden, an architect, furniture designer, and Dallas transplant now residing in Brooklyn, has only one desire: to put the ‘fun’ back in functional with his FUNature collection of chairs and tables. Hayden used 297 tennis balls to craft this enormously playful chair. It's heavenly soft and surprisingly massaging to sit on. LOVE! It's a match(point) made in heaven.
